Pantanal itinerary

6 Days/ 5 Nights

Day 1- Saturday Concepción* / Cruise.

Welcome on board and check in at 10:30. Meeting the crew and guides who will describe the different activities to be developed during the trip. Lunch and free afternoon to rest and try exotic drinks, enjoy the swimming pool or the beautiful landscape from the Chaco area. Paraguayan Folkloric night during dinner, with delicious typical dishes.

 

Day 2- Sunday – Vallemí.

Breakfast. During the trip to Vallemí, time to enjoy a scientific conference about the two specific eco-regions of Chaco and Pantanal. Arrival to Vallemí, a small town known for its cement production. Time to explore its natural underground caves with unique geologic structures forming characteristic shapes. Return to the ship to enjoy dinner on board.

 

Day 3- Monday- Cruise/ Puerto Murtinho/ Ranch.

Early arrival to Puerto Murtinho (Brazil). During navigation, a conference will be presented by our guide. Enjoy a different way of life in a typical ranch in the Chaco, called “Estancia” with activities like walking in the nature, or resting under the trees. Our biologist will join us in the different chosen activities as photo safaris or horse riding.

 

Day 4- Tuesday- Cruise/ Fuerte Olimpo.

At dawn, arrival and view of the stunning landscape of the Pantanal, a simply beautiful landscape to explore and photograph. Breakfast and visit to the small community of Fuerte Olimpo, the “Fuerte Borbon”, the native’s museum and the Cathedral. The “Tres Hermanos” Hill, with its 535 steps stair is waiting for you to reach and appreciate the majesty of the Rio Paraguay running through the Brazilian hills. Return to the ship to have lunch on board before visiting the native’s village named Chamacoco to discover about this interesting local culture. At the end of the day, experience wild life in expedition boats to observe the crocodiles of the region, called “yacares”. Dinner on board.

 

Day 5- Wednesday - Cruise/ Puerto Murtinho/ Puerto Casado.

At dawn, arrival to the Brazilian port called Puerto Murtinho. Boarding and disembarkation of passengers. At 8:00, we will leave to Puerto Casado, having the opportunity to visit its early 19th century train and the town’s museum.

Back to the cruise and in the evening attend Captain’s Special Night.

Day 6- Thursday - Cruise/ Concepción*.

Breakfast and time to enjoy the swimming pool and all the facilities of the ship. Arrival at Concepción around 11:00. Check out and disembark.
